| Summary: | The Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Passenger Terminal is located in Pekanbaru City, Riau Province at coordinates of 0.4645 ° North and 101.4482 ° East, precisely located at Jalan Perhubungan I, Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport, Bukit Raya, Simpang Tiga, Pekanbaru City. The project proponent is PT. Angkasa Pura II. At the ultimate stage, Sultan Syarif Kasim II International Airport is planned to accommodate 14,764 million passengers per year consisting of international passenger terminal and domestic passenger terminal with total area of 88.000 m2 and also parking area with total area of 60.000 m2. This passenger terminal consists of 3 floors level to serve public functions, departures, arrivals, and operations. The main concept in the design of this passenger terminal is “Enhancing Passenger Experience” that is applied to several aspects of planning such as exterior, interior, and space program. Issue of identity and locality is an important issue in designing this passenger terminal as the main gateway of tourism in Riau Province and Pekanbaru City in particular, to introduce local culture. In addition, there are also security and safety issues, circulation, and eco airport. |
