Description
Summary:Productivity is important in the construction industry. Because it is important os it needs to be improved. Currently, many contractors are making efforts to increase productivity. Research that discusses the factors that affect the productivity has also been done. However, the question arises whether the contractor is making a conscious effort to increase productivity. Conscious in the sense that they take action based on knowledge and attitude. They know what to do and they also understand why it is necessary to perform such action. Because the results will certainly differ between actions based on knowledge and attitude with those who do not. If the level of maturity can be reflected through the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, intentions, and actions it becomes important to know how the national contractor's maturity level aims to increase productivity. The information is expected to be utilized by stakeholders in the national construction sector in establishing policies and developing programs to increase the productivity of national construction, both government, LPJK, and the contractors themselves, so that efforts to increase productivity can be effective.

This study is the first study to discuss how the knowledge, attitude, intention, and what action has been done by national contractor to increase productivity. Currently the instruments that can be used to obtain the required data does not exist, so it needs to be made the instrument first. The research instrument was developed by adopting his theory of Icek Ajzen on the theory of planned behavior (TPB). Prior to use, the instrument needs to be validated to an expert. The goal is to get the right model questions to answer the purpose of research and easy to understand respondents.

Research respondents come from BUMN contractors and BUMS contractors, both for project level and company level. In this study there are a total of 17 respondents with diverse background experience and positions. After the data collected then processed using Phenomenological Study approach.

Referring to the assumption that the national contractor maturity level can be measured from the relationship between knowledge, attitude, intention, and action, then from the research result can be concluded that maturity level of national contractor in general have been seen. If examined more deeply seen a slight difference in the level of maturity between the contractors of SOEs with BUMS contractors. BUMN contractors have relatively better maturity level than BUMS contractors. Associated with productivity measurement they are aware that productivity measurement is important. In addition to having a plan they have also done it. More detail, related to conscious level implemented in intention and effort, BUMN contractor is better than BUMS contractor. BUMN contractors are not just aware, but have taken measurements. While the BUMS contractor has done it too but the percentage is not as much as the BUMN contractor. In relation to productivity improvement efforts it is seen that the maturity or maturity level of BUMN contractors is relatively better compared to BUMS contractors. This is evident from the data stating that all state-owned contractors have plans and make efforts to increase productivity, while not all contractors BUMS up to that stage.

Despite having obtained a general description of the national contractor's maturity level on productivity improvement efforts, the researcher found several research opportunities that could be done to complete this research, namely: (1) This research has not seen the relationship between the maturity level and the results achieved. So that next can be done research to know the relationship between maturity level with result achieved. (2) Respondents of this study are still very limited, both from the amount and diversity. So in no sense can give conclusive conclusions on the results obtained, at least from a statistical point of view.
