With the implementation of NEP,

it is important to assess the energy security, especially its performance in 2025 and

2050. In this research, national energy security’s assessment tool have been developed

which consist of 5 dimensions and 12 indicators. And further developed 4 scenarios in

the energy security assessment, the basic scenarios (BAU scenario and the NEP

scenario) and the development of the basic scenario if NEP scenario cannot be

achieved (EC scenario and NRE scenario). By using the normalization method minmax,

it can be

calculated

the relative

value

between

one scenario

with

other

scenarios

for each indicator. After obtained relative value, then weighted by AHP method. The

results show that the aspect of availability is still the main one in the assessment of

energy security in Indonesia, which in turn are the ease of access, the ability of people

to buy, the technology and the efficient use of energy, and the environment. After the

aggregation process, the NEP scenario achieves the highest Energy Security Index

(ESI) value compared to other scenarios, with 0.643 in 2025 and 0.639 in 2050. This

indicates that with the implementation of NEP, national energy security will increase,

even the highest compared to other scenarios. Based on these results, Government

must set up strategic and acceleration programs to face the challenges and obstacles

encountered in the implementation of NEP in order to minimize the deviation from

the expected ESI value. text
