The electronic water meter implements Internet of Things technology. Power supply for the electronic water meter is derived from energy harvesting technology by using micro generator. In this research micro generator type POW109D3B that produced 125 mW is used. Power supply module in this electronic water meter is constructed by DC-DC converter, and battery charger module. Lithium battery with capacity 250mAh is used to store the energy. Experiment results showed that the water flow influenced the charging rate of the battery. It took about 30 minutes to charge the battery. The energy of battery can be used to supply standby mode of Wi-fi module for 54 minutes. Battery will run out of energy faster when the Wifi module is transmitting data. text |
