There are 85 craftsmen in Kampoeng Batik Laweyan with their various batik creative industries. This place is not only functioned as the central of batik but also as the popular tourism destination for the batik lovers in Indonesia. Ironically, the small and middle batik entrepreneurs have not fully emblazoned because of the small capital they have. The limited capital, made them unable to build their own batik showroom. This project try to solve the business issues in Laweyan through the architecture design. Laweyan Batik Joint outlet try to accommodate gotong-royong marketing method through accommodating the small and the middle entrepreneurs in the joint outlet. This joint outlet will spread in three different location across Kampung Batik Laweyan. The location to build the joint outlet chosen based on the density level they have on batik industries, batik entrepreneurs, non‐batik industries variation, and the effect to the other kampung in Kampung Batik Laweyan. In this Final Project AR 4099, designer chose Kampung Setono as the representative project for her final project. Kampung Setono was chosen because it has the highest level on density of batik industries, batik entrepreneurs among the other seven kampung in Laweyan, and also its location in the edge of river as well as its location as an IPAL as main batik waste treatment in Laweyan. Design process of joint outlet itself adjust the existing condition of its space, Javanese house – batik factory, and apply the contrast façade design to optimize the tourism activity within the traditional Laweyan architecture. The contrast façade aim to avoid the competition between the traditional house and the joint outlet itselves. Laweyan Batik Joint outlet expected to improve the marketing capacity and the tourism economy condition in Kampung Batik Laweyan Solo. text
