Effect of Composted Residue from Fruit Waste Bioconversion with Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) Larvae on the Growth of Green Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L).

bioconversion process would generate solid residue (compost) which could be applied to crop as growing media. The objective of this research was to identify the effect of applied compost on lettuce (Lactuca satica L.) growth. The treatments which used in this research consist of control, ex BSF compost with 50:50 ratio, ex BSF compost with 25:75 ratio, commercial compost with
50:50 ratio and commercial BSF compost with 25:75 ratio with 5 repetition. Result showed that ex-BSF compost contain a variety of macro and micro nutrients which fulfill tje national standard for compost with C/N ratio 19, nitrogen content 2.21%, phospor 0.71%, potassium
3.49%, calcium 1.03%, magnesium 0.4%, iron 0.106%, alumunium 0.12%, and zinc 0.01%. Analysis of variance showed that ex-BSF compost treatment with 50:50 ratio was significantly better in most of the indicators (lettuce height, number of leaves, leaf area, and crop weight) than the other treatments (Tukey test P < 0,05). |
