Therefore, as a vital part of the operation, the design of intake unit must give more scrutiny to the reliability of raw water, since the common problem in the construction of drinking water network is the lapse in estimating the water source discharge. Thus, a statistical hydrological analysis is conducted to avoid the drop of minimum water discharge in the dry season as well as a spike of maximum water flow in the rainy season. In this context, it is also used to prospect the Cidurian River, a stream which is used by Solear PWTP, to fulfill the improvement of water related services. The analysis yields daily dry discharge, semi-monthly and monthly discharge for various return periods. For raw water design purposes, the dry discharge uses 10 - 20 years return period with a duration of 1 day, and the value of the discharge ranges between 325-543 l / s. To meet water needs in the events of the dry season within less than 20 years, the intake and transmission require a capacity of 400 lps (Qpermit < QR10). It should be noted that the planned intake unit differs from the actual intake due to the alterations to meet the applicable regulations. The total raw water required to achieve a goal of 37% service target could not be accommodated by the availability of water in the river alone. To achieve fulfillment in the need and the continuity, other raw water sources apart from rivers is requisite. Thus, an analysis is conducted on the prospect of developing water resources that utilize reservoir management, which yields a total reservoir volume of 17.26 million m3 where the input discharge is the minimum dry discharge of 20 years returns period with a duration of 15 days. text
