Summary: | The increasing oil recovery in the maximum gain cannot be achieved without an accurate design and selection of proper injection sites. X Field is an oil field that surfactant injection will be applied. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize five spots patterned surfactant injection simulation on the X field on multiple injection sites with characterization of rock properties such as porosity, permeability, oil saturation to get the maximum increase in cumulative production. Besides characterization of rock properties, surfactant concentration and injection rate are also a determining factor in increasing cumulative oil production in the oil field. <br />

From the results of sensitivity test of surfactant concentration and injection rate at several locations, it has been known that optimum surfactant concentration in the X field is about 10-12 kg/m3 and optimum injection rate is about 700-1000 STB/D. Reservoir characterizations that give significant influence to quality of location for surfactant injection are permeability, oil saturation, and average initial reservoir pressure when injection was done. Injection rate gives a greater influence than surfactant concentration after influence of the location. Based on existing parameters, will be made a correlation to predict the cumulative production change after five spots patterned surfactant injection has been done with Design of Experiments (DOE) method. |
