Delta front depositional environment of this formation causes a layer of sandstone reservoir of potentially spread a thin thickness scale and can not be described by seismic data resolution. 'GELORA' field is an exploration of the field used as the object in this research sandstone distribution. The lack of well data requires the well unconstrained inversion approach in mapping the spread of sandstones in this field. Basis Pursuit Inversion Method is a new method in the process of inversion with the advantages of superior results, but the inverse is not efficient in terms of time working algorithm. Other methods such as sparse spike inversion using the same concept, has the advantage of working within a faster algorithm than the basis pursuit inversion but the results are not as good as BPI.

This research will be carried out observations of sparse spike inversion parameters so that results can be brought closer to the basis pursuit inversion results. The results will be applied to 3D data in order to see and map the distribution of thin sandstones in the study area with good results and a more efficient processing times. text
