This consumption will significantly rise in metropolitan-high density city like Jakarta along with the increase of vertical housing supply. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This research focus on identification of energy efficiency criteria, especially passive thermal comfort aspects for walk-up apartment design. Cilincing District, North Jakarta, known as industrial and settlement area is used as case study. Since the location by the bay area, Cilincing represents the characteristic of tropical coastal area. This research utilizes the tropical coastal characteristic such as wind and sunlight to design a passive energy-efficient housing. The building elements of walk-up apartment design will be iterated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation to achieve passive thermal comfort. The research result is the energy efficiency criteria as a rule of thumb for walk-up apartment design, such as corridor types, dimension, material, orientation of building elements such as windows, shading, wall, roof, etc which respond to the tropical coastal site. text |
