Flavonoids and or saponin were predicted to be responsible antihypertensive effect. The goal of the research is to isolate flavonoid from the n-hexane, ethyl acetate, or ethanol extract. Phytochemical screening of crude drug from kucai bulbs showed the presence of flavonoid, saponin, and steroid/triterpenoid compounds. Crude drug of kucai bulbs were consequtively extracted with Soxhlet apparatus, using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and ethanol. Ethyl acetate extract was fractionated with vaccum liquid chromatography using silica gel 60 H and gradient eluent, n-hexane - ethyl acetate - ethanol. Purification was conducted by preparative thin layer chromatography. Characterization isolate was performed by using ultraviolet-visible and infrared spectrophotometries. Isolate X was identified as one isoflavone having C-H aliphatic, C=C aliphatic, C-O-C, aromatic groups, and -OH at atom C number 5 and or 3, 4. text
