Summary: | Research in the provision of clean water become important focus continues to be studied to resolve the problem of clean water crisis in several regions around the world, especially developing countries. Based on data from the WHO / UNICEF 2000, the contaminated water is one of the main factors that affect the health of more than 1.2 billion people around the world and contributed to the death of 15 million children each year. Photocatalys is a water-treatment techniques using sunlight that a convenient, environmentally friendly and low cost technique. Semiconductor TiO2 is selected as a catalyst for nontoxic, inexpensive, its existence is abundant and can induce the oxidation reduction reaction and so widely applied in principle photocatalyst. By improving the existing conventional systems, namely with the breakthrough of new methods to purify water cheaply, more effectively, spend a little energy, reducing the use of chemicals and impact hazards to humans and the environment. Wastewater treatment nanoparticle-based photocatalysts (TiO2) is a solution in water supply because the method is simple, environmentally friendly, and reasonably priced. |
