Description
Summary:Nowadays, measured solar radiation heat transmittance of glass is demanded. Measurement of heat transmittance should follow RSNI JIS A 1493:2014 guideline. This guideline use a set of measurement instrument, which one of the components is calorimetric heat box (CHB). CHB has to meet two conditions, which are thermal and air flow condition. This research is focused on simulating air flow inside CHB to fulfill air flow condition for specimen with minimum size of (1 x 1) m2. Research is done by simulating numerical method using computational fluid dynamic software, which is compared by visualization and measurement of air flow in TKL laboratorium climatic chamber. Comparison shows similarity between simulation and visualization, and 4,55% difference with measurement. Therefore, simulation for air flow inside of CHB can be done. Required air flow condition is laminar on specimen surface with average velocity less than 0,3 m/s. Simulation shows (0,6 x 1,1 x 1,5) m3 CHB variant fulfilled the required air flow condition and specimen size. Reynolds number examination shows value less than 3,0 x 104, which is in the range of laminar flow condition. Visual examination shows required laminar condition and specimen size are fulfilled. Calculated average velocity along the specimen is less than 0,3 m/s.
