the basis that awareness of the importance of preserving nature, and in this case, the green turtle. The <br />
<br />
<br />
Turtle Conservation Facility at Pangumbahan Beach includes research facilities for conservation <br />
<br />
<br />
sustainability, conservation facilities, and ecotourism facilities that can become a sustainable funding <br />
<br />
<br />
for the Pangumbahan Conservation Area itself. <br />
<br />
<br />
This project is located within the Conservation Area of Pangumbahan, Ujung Genteng, Sukabumi, <br />
<br />
<br />
located north of Ujung Genteng Beach, a well known tourist destination in West Java. Precisely, this <br />
<br />
<br />
project is in a limited utilization zone that has been specified by the National Maritime and Fisheries <br />
<br />
<br />
Office of Sukabumi Regency. <br />
<br />
<br />
The issue that was brought up in the design of this project is the Reinterpreting The Life of Sea <br />
<br />
<br />
Turtle, which is manifested in the mass design, circulation, and the structure of the building. This issue <br />
<br />
<br />
was choosed to allow passively generated ambience to provide new learning about turtles to visitors. <br />
<br />
<br />
As an effort to escalate the uniqueness of West Java, the designs puts in elements such as local <br />
<br />
<br />
materials and local roof form. |
