| Summary: | Financial literacy has a fundamental role to help managing individual finance. This study measures the financial literacy index among Indonesian athletes specifically in West Java. Professional athletes in West Java are having the experience of struggling in managing their money after their retired in sports. When they are retired and not facilitated anymore, they actually tend to not financially independent. There are several retired athletes who are bankrupt after years, indicated that they have a low financial literacy and knowledge. This research is conducted by distributing 183 questionnaires to the members of Indonesian National Sports Council (KONI) West Java using the convenience sampling. The questionnaire includes basic and advanced financial literacy concept. The gathered data is analyzed by using One-Way ANOVA to analyze differences of financial literacy index mean among the group of athletes based on the demographic profile. The result shows that the financial literacy index among West Java Athletes is low. Therefore, strategies to elevate the level of financial literacy among West Java Athletes have been identified in this research. |
