In the last few years, declination of discharge occurred in Cikapundung River which led to a low flow condition. It is assumed that the causes of the low flow recurrences are land use activities and water withdrawal from the river itself. Another factor that is also assumed to contribute effect is the climate change around the Cikapundung sub catchment area which is affected by ENSO (El Nino Southern Oscillation) phenomenon. Therefore, analysis is conducted using the hydrologic 7Q10 method to assess the low flow variability in Cikapundung River for the past 22 years (1992-2013) as well as the relationship to the factors assumed to cause its recurrences. The analysis’ results showed that the values of 7Q10 low flow in annual series and dry season for Maribaya Gauge Station is 1,25 m3/s while the values Gandok Gauge Station is 0,25 m3/s. A strong El Nino phenomenon which occurred during 2001-2006 is strongly assumed to affect the low flow recurrences and its declining values for the past 22 years. The other factors, water withdrawals and land cover change, are also assumed to affect the low flow values as a integrated part of Cikapundung sub catchment area management. text
