EFFECT OF Ti AND Mo ADDITION ON MICRO STRUCTURE STABILITY OF SUPERALLOY WITH THE BASED ALLOY OF Ni-15Al-10Cr

Superalloys is a special alloy used at high temperature due to the different properties for low temperature and high temperature applications. Superalloys must have a high melting point, high tensile strength, resistance to high crawl, the stability of the micro structure and high temperature corros...

Each alloy was heat treatedt with various aging time of 10, 100, 1000, and 10,000 minutes. Observation of changes in the microstructure using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and EDS analysis were carried out. The microstructure changes observed was the occurrence of precipitate coarsening and coalescence of γ '. Microhardness is used to measure the hardness of each sample. Some of the results obtained from observations is the long aging time will produce cubic shaped precipitates on the outer side and lengthwise on the inside due to the incorporation of precipitates. The addition of titanium and molybdenum will decrease the coarsening rate of precipitates and accelerates the rate of denuded zone free precipitate forming. text
