Even tourism has the largest proportion in Pangandaran’s GDP for the last five years. In the other hand, as one of the coastal area in java, Pangandaran alsa has a lot of potential fishery. In 2015, total transaction in the biggest fish market in Pangandaran reached 42 billion rupiahs. The existance of this two potential sector is a comparative advantage for Pangandaran to increase their economic activity to bring prosperity for the local community. In fact, the development of these two potential sector have not optimally synegized. If tourism not properly managed, it can bring negative externality to the fishery sector especially for the fisherman community. Some literature says that there are transition in local community livelihood from fisheries to tourism related livelihood. Based on these condition, it requires a concept of community based tourism to integrate the local fisheries sector with tourism development in Pangandaran. This research use the qualitative approach with in depth interview and observation is the main methods to obtain the information. Furhtermore, literature and precedent review will made to complete the analysis <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on the analysis, there has been a forward linkages between fisheries and tourism sector in Pangandaran Village. The linkages only occurred in terms of fish marketing. Another fisheries activities such as traditional fishing, fish processing, and fishermen village still far from developed as tourist attraction. Only fish processed as seafood that has grown into a culinary tourism in Pangandaran Village. Athough the idea of integration of these two sectors aims to improve the welfare of local fishermen, but people in Pangandaran village stil not aware about the potential of integration including fisheries related tourist attraction. In terms of tourist demand, the tourist attraction from fisheries sector is attractive enough for tourist. It is because the majority of tourist feel bored with tourist attraction in Pangandaran Village which they say has a lot of competitor in other area. Tourist attraction innovation which not only depends on nature attractiveness is <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> required. Educational tourism activity which can improve tourist experience by relying on local characteristic of Pangandara Village as a fishing area is the interest of the majority of respondents. Public awareness and knowledge is the main thing that must be addressed, in addition marketing activities and the improvement of fisheries facilities in order to support tourism activity is another thing that must be addressed. Cooperation between actors especially among fisheries and tourism actors becomes very necessary to support this integration. text |
