Description
Summary:In a growing cities, transit service usage level is considered as an important subject. An increase in transit service usage will minimize the negative effects caused by private transportation and bring benefits to many city stakeholders. Spatial and temporal availability of the service is considered as the basic factors which affects passenger preference on choosing transportation modes. Therefore, TransJakarta’s service availability characteristics is such an important aspect of the sytem which has to be identified in order to increase TransJakarta’s level of service. TransJakarta’s service availability will be identified using methods from TCQSM (Transit Capacity and Quality Service Manual) provided by TRB (Transportation Research Board). After the service availability is identified, then it will be analyzed to determine its relationship with service usage at stops level. From the analysis, it was found that there is no significant correlation between spatial service availability and the service usage level. The absent of correlation between spatial service availability variable and service usage level is caused by the major fundamental differences between TransJakarta’s stops characteristics and stops characteristcs in most city in United States where the TCQSM was initially implemented and developed.
