Summary:Deconvolution is the process to relieve wavelet effect in seismic records. In conventional deconvolution, there are any restrictive assumption including phase of wavelet must be minimum. Minimum Entropy Deconvolution (MED) is the method applied to reduce the effect of wavelet that doesnt need wavelet assumtion and wavelet extraction. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Minimum Entropy Deconvolution use the simplicity criteria called norm. In this paper, we will present the application of minimum entropy deconvolution with norm which is called varimax norm. Filter of MED will be applied in syntetics and real seismic trace. The parameter of filter length should be set correctly in process of modelling and applying filter to real seismic trace. The final output would show us the effectivity of Minimum Entropy Deconvolution.
