Description
Summary:Extreme weather (high intensity rainfall) is one of the climate change impact as a factor to floods. Increasing of flooding also affected by land use changes that affected reducing water infiltration and increasing soil erosion to the river. Bojonegoro Regency is one of area that is regularly flooded and used as a research location.

The purpose of this study was to generate spatial plan which adaptive towards flood. The study was conducted qualitatively and quantitatively. The qualitative research was conducted by interviewing the actors involved, or by understanding the process of Spatial Planning of Bojonegoro Regency for 2011-2031. In addition, the quantitative research was conducted through flood hazard map overlaid with spatial plan maps.

Based on the analysis that has been done, there is land use changes from forest to agriculture/farm and settlements, then there are settlements development in the potentially flood plain areas and 15 districts along the Bengawan Solo River in Bojonegoro Regency are exposed by very high hazard level (> 3 m) to very low (<3 m). Therefore, land use changes needs to be considered not to increase the level of flood risks and the development of settlements areas carried out in an area that is secure from flooding.

Recommended options for adaptation to settlements areas can be done by adjusting the design of the building (flood proofing), building dikes, improved quality of settlements, realignment of housing on the river banks, making infiltration wells, flood insurance and relocation. As for the agricultural areas by developing the type and superior crop varieties adaptive to inundation / flooding as well as the adjustment of cropping pattern.
