Description
Summary:Sustainable transport is the most issue developed by Indonesian government to improve the transportation aspect

including huge infrastructure development throughout the major cities in Indonesia. Current government brings this

issue to the development of transportation structure including infrastructure, technology advancement and renewable

energy for some major cities in Indonesia, especially Bandung. Bandung population itself for 2015 reached the

number of 2.481.469 people that is increased up to 45,845 people from survey result in 2011.One of the sustainable

transport programs is Bandung Metro Capsule which expected to reduce the traffic congestion level currently

appeared in Bandung, the province capital of West Java. This is a breakthrough for development of sustainable

transport which more efficient, use renewable resources for operational and effective regarding the project goals.

Bandung Metro Capsule expected to be a back-bone transport which integrated with the other modes. The research

goes with conducting a market survey regarding the passenger preference of their daily transport and decision to use

Metro Capsule. The survey was filled by 300 respondents through online form and onsite method around the

selected station area that proposed to be route of Metro Capsule. The route will covering the areas starts from

Bandung Alun-Alun into Pasar Baru, Tegalega and Bandung Station. Data analysis is done by use a group

comparison and two-way ANOVA to show out is there any differences between groups mean and relationship

between those variables according to passenger desire to use Bandung Metro Capsule. Firstly, through the

descriptive statistics for describe the respondent profile and their preference regarding the object of research.

Secondly, use correlation test to justify and validate the proposed six station by SAPPK-ITB. Third, use General

Linear Model to describe the relationship between passenger profile to decision to use Metro Capsule. The last is,

use grouping comparison through one-way ANOVA looking for the significant difference or effect between

passenger profile and passenger preference criteria. The result of analysis could be useful for recommendation about

concept of commercialization area and justification for the tariff, stations point and facility at Bandung Metro

Capsule. From data analysis, we concluded that passenger from all age categories; all income level; all recent

education has an enthusiasm and desirable to use Bandung Metro Capsule as their decision. Then, all passengers

also needs comfort as the most preference criteria, followed by safety and exclusivity then the stakeholder or Metro

Capsule should consider these criteria because influenced their decision to use Metro Capsule. The business area for

passenger with middle-low income in each station suitable for small store or small cafe, hanging-out place and wifi

area which more less expensive. The station of Pasar Baru and Kebonjati should consider to propose a middle-high

level of business regarding the passenger who made activities had higher income than other categories. The

examples such as supermarket, working space, café, food franchise store, souvenir shop and etc. These business

types have to consider the surrounding zone around the station whether its school, store complex, mall, hospital,

market, public parks or tourism spot. The preferences study of Bandung passenger could be an additional reference

for public transportation literature in Indonesia and being useful will to be a recommendation for government and

other stakeholder to make further and more complex research about it.
