This makes the coast of Indonesia very potential. The potential of coastal development is broadly divided into three, namely: renewable resource; non-renewalbe resource; and environmental services. The existence of coastal erosion makes these potentials difficult to be utilized, especially on environmental services. Erosion is a mechanism of surface processes (such as water flow or wind) that remove soil, rock, or dissolved material from one location on the Earth's crust, then transport it away to another location. Sungai Kunyit Laut is a village in Kunyit River District, Mempawah District, West Kalimantan Province, Indonesia which utilizes the potential of environmental services in coastal areas. The occurrence of erosion makes the activities of residents disturbed, for it needed a coastal protection to support economic growth in coastal areas. For coastal protection planning, it is necessary to analyze tidal and other hydro-oceanography. The result of this analysis is the wave plan and sediment transport which is used as parameter to design the size / dimension of the coastal structure. Coastal structure to be built is breakwater. Design breakwater to be studied in the form of layout (length and distance from the beach), structural dimensions (peak elevation, peak width, weight of armour unit used, armour layer thickness, armour unit size and toe protection width) and bill of quantities. text
