As that the number of casualties can be minimized. In resisting the service loads, structural elements are designed not to deflect more than the allowable deflection. In the other words, beam and slab element are designed to deflect as small as possible which below the allowable deflection. The column element is not allowed to experience drift that is larger than the allowable story drift. In resisting the extreme loads which consist of the existing loads and earthquake load, structural elements must be safe from the failure. Therefore, the structural elements must have the capacity that is larger than the ultimate loads. Thus, the design of elements’ details should be very careful. From the design that has been done, it can be concluded that The Lifestyle Center Summarecon Bandung Building together with the structural elements have been adequate to resist the service and ultimate loads. text |
