Description
Summary:Nowadays, the problem of urban mobility has become a very common issue for citizens in developing cities, including in Bandung. One approach taken by the City Government in order to provide solutions to various problems encountered is to develop and adapt the concept of smart city in which also includes a solution to the problems of urban mobility. Of the many solutions by various elements that are formulated to solve this problem, the implementation of bike-sharing services is one of them, as embodied in the Regional Development Plan of the Mid-Term (RJPMD) of Bandung period year 2013-2018 which is ratified in the Regional Regulation of Bandung City No.03 Year 2014.

However, as a public transport facility in Bandung, bike-sharing services still face challenges and various problems that must be faced, especially in local contexts where the user has no previous information and knowledge of the services being implemented. Precedents based on similar systems implemented in different parts of the city in other parts of the world provide information on issues such as: unresponsive information impacts the redistribution of the number of bikes at each station and the occurrence of vandalism behaviour and the low user preference for using the bike-sharing services.

This research was conducted with the aim to identify human factors in the form of user behaviour that could be considered to formulate solutions to potential problems obtained from research precedents that are very likely to occur also in bike-sharing service in Bandung. Furthermore it can be used as a towing factor to increase the number of use of bike-sharing services between citizens and tourists in the city of Bandung so that the provision of services to be optimal. While the factors driving the success of the bike-sharing system is the user's awareness of the existence of such services as a means of transportation that is safe, comfortable and reliable, causing a sense of need and sense of belonging.

The formulation of solutions with integrated human-centered system design studies is the key to making the system work well. Through the design-thinking method used, the formulation of human factor-based solutions will be summarized as recommendations for the development of future bike-sharing services. This study identifies various factors related to the citizens of Bandung as a user and found that there are three main things that can be integrated based on these human factors so that bike-sharing system services can be optimal in Bandung, that is: development of information application systems and service socialization, Design features and technology of system services on bicycles, as well as connectedness of bike-sharing system services with other public transportation services in Bandung. The formulation of the solution in the form of integrated system design recommendations developed in this research is aimed at triggering the user in deciding the action to choose the bike-sharing system services, thus raising awareness of the availability of this service as an alternative mode of transportation and increasing the user's preference for the service.
