Description
Summary:Indonesia as a country with enormous population in the world, have high electrical consumption rate. This electrical consumption rate can still increase in the future because Indonesia are a developing country. This high electrical consumption rate are caused by industries and households in Indonesia, one of the regions are East Java. Electrical consumption rate will raise in peak-hour ata 18.00-22.00. Because of that reason, there is a need to fulfill the electrical consumption needs on peak-hour, one of them are using Pumped Storage Powerplant. <br /> <br /> <br /> This final report describe the basic design of Pumped Storage Powerplant located at the vicinity of Wonorejo Dam, Tulungagung, East Java. The basic design started from analysis of hydrology, water availability and potential wattage that can be generated based on topographical and climatological aspect of the surrounding area. The next step are designing and analyzing the safety of the structure of the dam to make water storage. After that, hydropower buildings are designed, consisting of intake, tunnel, penstock and tailrace. After that financial feasibility of the project are analyzed, consisted of Payback Period, Benefit Cost Ratio and Internal Rate of Return. Dam structure used are Concrete Gravity Dam. Financial feasibility result are as follows : the BCR are 1,7, the IRR are 3% and the Payback Period will need 14 years.
