Description
Summary:Decreasing in oil recoveries on the mature reservoir and weak water drive caused by the formation of channeling in these reservoirs. This reservoir has a large remaining oil and many are in Indonesia. Increasing oil recovery on channeling reservoir can be reached by using one method of EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery) is able to strips the oil. Oil-stripping can be done by lowering the oil-water IFT. EOR methods are most effective in reducing interfacial tension (IFT) of oil and water is surfactant flooding. Therefore, this study intends to identify channeling formation in reservoir and evaluate the process of oil-stripping on channeling using surfactant flooding. Implementation of this study include experiments coreflood and well simulations using chemical flood simulator (UTCHEM). Coreflood conducted by injecting core with surfactant in continuously. Simulations done with a model of a reservoir with permeability contrast that channel can be formed. From the results of studies and observations obtained that oil stripping happened when oil residual saturation in a channeling region approach zero. Oil stripping depend on time, injection rate and concentration of surfactant.
