We are interest on analyzing influence of well horizontal lenght against linear coefficient of radius of investigation. The analysis will be performed by observing influence of well length to radius of investigation by Ei Solution and logarithmic approachment as same as what has been done by Lee (1982) in elliptical flow problem. The problem in this study are limited only by the variation in horizontal length of the well.

The results of this study show that the radius of investigation equation commonly used in the calculation of radius of investigation for vertical wells can not be used in the calculation of radius investigation for horizontal wells. In horizontal wells, the flow model around the wells will turn into elliptical flow, so the value of radius of investigation on the x axis and y will be different. The length of the horizontal section is a parameter that greatly affects the magnitude of the radius of investigation. The difference of the length of the horizontal section will make a difference in the value of radius of investigation. We propose a new general equation that can connect directly the length of the horizontal section in determining the radius of investigation. Determination of radius of investigation is very important in determining the time used for testing in a well test design. With this new equation, the design of testing period are expected to become better and more accurate. text
