Description
Summary:Flash floods that occur on the banks of the Cimanuk River in Garut regency due to the potential for rain continues to increase every day. In addition, land use conditions that have reshuffled caused the loss of water catchment areas resulting in water seeping and entering residential areas. The impacts caused by the flood are damage to buildings such as houses, public facilities, agricultural land and transportation. As an effect, people need the cost of building maintenance and public facilities are not small amount. The purpose of this research is to calculate the economic losses and make a loss map on the building sector, agricultural sector and road transport. The calculated economic loss is the value of damage to each structure of the building and the affected object. The calculations are performed using methods developed by the Japan International Coorporation Agency (JICA). Based on the method, flood losses are calculated by involving 3 parameters ie the number / area of impacted area, the cost of damage / compensation cost and damage factor. The total economic loss obtained in this research reached 19 billion rupiah. The highest value of loss is in the homes of citizens who reached 17 billion rupiah. In addition, the village that has the highest loss value is Sukamantri’s village.
