The simulator uses the algorithm and computational scheme for solving the lid-driven cavity problem in two-dimensions shaped as a square. The data for the lid-driven cavity problem in two-dimensions is available to be used as comparison. In this computation, the Navier-Stokes equations with a Newtonian fluid are solved using boundary conditions and staggered finite-volume pressure correction method. The package has successfully shown the visualization of fluid flow pattern including trace of streamline, velocity vector field, and velocity distribution contour. The application package is used for simulating the lid-driven cavity in two-dimensions shaped as a square. The results show that the velocity in 𝑥 and 𝑦 directions have errors of 10,841% and 4,885% against the available data, respectively. The use of the package for lid-driven cavity in three-dimensions shaped as a cube shows a deviation of 0,4262% and 2,0207% for the velocity in x and z directions for the same plane coordinates against the results from two-dimensional lid-driven cavity simulation using the package. Based on analysis, it was found that certain inputs affect the speed of the simulation, such as value of Reynolds number, amount of control volumes, and the size of time step. text |
