The steamflood is performed using a vertical injection well with an inverted 7-spots injection pattern. The steamflood is simulated using a CMG STARS petroleum simulator. The reservoir model is initially constructed based on data from the X heavy oil field located in Central Sumatra and then modified based on the characteristics of heavy oil reservoir according to Hama et al. The efficiency of the steamflood method is checked by sensitivity to the parameters that have positive effect on the recovery factor value based on the equation of recovery factor determination by Wiratma (2015). The range of values from the parameters selected for the sensitivity test is also based on the screening criteria by Hama et al. (2014).
