To protect the coastline from erosion must be created buffer zone. The first step is needed to stop the erosion process by <br /> <br /> returning the lost sediment to obtain a stable coastline. This approach is called hybrid engineering'. Hybrid engineering by using Permeable Groins by utilizing natural resources around the coast, such as the example used on the beach Timbulsloko using materials in the form of twigs or branches of mangrove that is cut and arranged to form a groyne. <br /> <br /> <br /> In this research, we analyze the use of Permeable Groins as one of the coastal safeguard through a physical modeling to get optimal damping. Scenario model is done by changing the character Schematic model scenario is done by changing the characteristics of brushwood groin (width b and height h) to water level d. And the T wave period. The problems in this study only look at the waveform transformation of the significant wave height, and the transmission coefficient to the variation in <br /> <br /> height and width of the brushwood groyne. <br /> <br /> <br /> The influence of the height of the structure towards the wave energy damping is enough to influence the greater the height of the structure the greater the wave energy attenuation. Likewise with the width of the structure the greater the width of the muted energy structure is also greater. The value of the transmission coefficient (Kt) tends to decrease with increasing depth. Where is the largest Kt condition when the condition of the structure at the time of submerge condition. So that condition is good enough in placement of Permeable Groins is with condition above MSL or dikondisi HWL. If the structure widened when compared with the height then Kt will be greater. A fairly good comparison of groynes geometry values in Permeable Groins is a comparison between the height and width of about 2: 1 text
