PRODUCTION AND INTERACTION HOUSING: FISHERMAN SOCIAL HOUSING AT MARUNDA, NORTH JAKARTA

As an archipelagic country, Indonesia has a large potential for natural resources, particularly in <br /> <br /> <br /> the field of marine and fishery. Ironically, this statement is not reflected by the economy conditions of <br /> <br /> <br /> the fishermen as they lives in unhealthy slum area. Kali Baru, is a location in which these slums are <br /> <br /> <br /> present, one that has caught the attention of The Vice President of The Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf <br /> <br /> <br /> Kalla, and is yet to be redeveloped. Relocation all societies to unused land, including fisherman, to <br /> <br /> <br /> Kemayoran has become the solution to ease process of redeveloping Kali Baru. This relocation will <br /> <br /> <br /> directly impact the fisherman's economy well-being as Kemayoran, being far from the sea, is <br /> <br /> <br /> geographically different with Kali Baru. <br /> <br /> <br /> Fisherman Social Housing at Marunda, North Jakarta is a proposed idea as a solution to solve the <br /> <br /> <br /> problems of relocation. Land of +40.000 metre situated near the sea, this social housing expected to <br /> <br /> <br /> improve fisherman's quality of life and economy legally. Function and social differentiation, <br /> <br /> <br /> acommodating the fisherman's activities, and environmental impact have become the highlighted <br /> <br /> <br /> issues to the design process of this social housing. This social housing will mainly acomodate as the <br /> <br /> <br /> fishermen's house, but has secondary function as the interaction and production base. Variation of <br /> <br /> <br /> dwelling, clear activity zones, high workplace accessibility are the ideas to respond the problematic <br /> <br /> <br /> issues. These ideas of social housing hopefully will give an alternate solution of fisherman's economy <br /> <br /> <br /> problem and improve their productivity through their house.
