However, there are still weaknesses in their safety and health management system, indicated by the reporting of unsafe act, unsafe condition, and nearmiss every month. Employee participation and management support are important elements in occupational safety program that has to be fulfilled, so the designed program can run effectively (OSHA,2016). The purpose of this study is to identify employee participation factor and psychosocial factor that affect injury rate; and provide recommendation to improve occupational safety program of TBBM Padalarang. The study is using participatory ergonomics method, that measures the level of employee participation that can be breakdowned to three factors: mental and emotional involvement, motivation to contribute, and acceptance of responsibility. Psychosocial factor can be breakdowned to psychological job demand, skill discretion, decision authority, mental workload, social support, job insecurity, reward, and over commitment. Level of employee participation and psychosocial risk factor then were correlated with worker injury rate. Level of employee participation questionnaire developed by Aditama was used as the level of employee participation measurement tool and psychosocial factor questionnaire developed by Hamam was used as psychosocial factor measurement tool. There are 184 respondents in this study. The results demonstrate that: level of mental and emotional involvement is 56% (moderate), motivation to contribute is 57% (moderate), and acceptance of responsibility is 59% (moderate). Dominant psychosocial risk factors are psychological job demand, skill discretion, decision authority, mental workload, job insecurity,dan over commitment. Based on correlation test, there is a significant and negative correlation between employee participation rate and worker injury rate and there is no correlation between psychosocial risk factor and worker injury. Then based on this study, recommendations regarding the improvement of the occupational safety program was given with 8E1M system. Recommended occupational safety programs are safety talk AMT, sharing session, PATUH, safety meeting, dan safety awareness training. text |
