Description
Summary:The needs of public transportation such train have been increased nowadays, especially on Java. It demands for integration to another mode. Kemenhub through the Solo City’s government is now developing an integration station that used for access from the city station to the existing station at the airport. Therefore, the design of this station requires consideration and new design criteria ones.

The idea that emerged in the design of this station is to integrate passenger activities from the station to the airport and accommodate the activities of long-distance train passengers. The main issue in this building is orientation and ease of wayfinding. The answers to this issue are harmonized with the concept of the building itself.

Spirit of Java’s concept is presented in building to show identity of Solo City to station user. This concept is displayed in the building as a whole without leave the design criteria. This concept is applied to the mass of the building, the rules of the spaces, facade of the building and also the ambiences. The mass of the building takes the form of the Kori Kamandhungan gate in the Surakarta palace, the rules and atmosphere of the space taking from the existing space in the Surakarta palace. The facade of the building applies the proportions of head, body and legs as well as the facade elements taken from the old station building elements that placed on the south one.
