Summary:Geologically, there are many factors for developing South of West Java. This region is mineralization stripe of stone. In addition, qualitatively, geothermal resources also plenitude. The location of this research is Pangalengan Sub District and PLTP “X”. Besides the factors that support for developing South of Bandung, there are also many obstacles: topographic and geological natural disasters. The main purpose of this mapping the prone landslide area in Pangalengan and in PLTP “X” and also analysis the mitigation attempt. Actually, landslide caused many factors, but the factor analyzed are slope, curvature, distance from drainage, geologi, soil, distance from lineament, landuse, and precipitation. That data analyzed using probabilistic analysis Frequency Ratio. In Pangalengan Sub District, the very prone area to landslides is 48,66%, fairly prone is 46,43%, and fairly safe area of the landslide is 46,43%. For around PLTP “X”, the very prone area to landslides is 28,71% and fairly prone is 56,23%. Physical properties analysis has correspond result with physics science. This condition describes, more than half of the region is very prone to landslide. Mitigation attempt that can be applied are build flexibel or rigid mitigation structural building, make trenches in the slope area, make good drainage, use the vegetation technique, and slope modification. In the Geothermal field, the development must be notice the prone area to landslide. If it still have to build in that area, it must support with certain security. It is also important to do is make the monitoring of ground movement in crucial buildings or areas.
