Summary:Media Kalimantan is a daily local newspaper in Kalimantan Selatan. Its business had <br /> <br /> competitions from other local newspaper, national newspaper, television, and internet. Internet in <br /> <br /> Kalimantan Selatan was still continuously improved by the government and private sector. It <br /> <br /> spread unevenly with concentration in urban area. The emergence of internet changes the way <br /> <br /> people in accessing news. To support its newspaper business, Media Kalimantan released a website <br /> <br /> named MediaKalimantan.com. <br /> <br /> The objectives of this research are analyzing the effect of internet to people’s pattern in <br /> <br /> accessing news, analyzing MediaKalimantan.com’s position in supporting Media Kalimantan’s <br /> <br /> business, and to give recommendations to Media Kalimantan so it can keep competing in <br /> <br /> Kalimantan Selatan. <br /> <br /> In this research, analysis that were used are value chain analysis and business model canvas <br /> <br /> to analyze internal condition, PEST and Porter’s Five Forces to analyze external condition, <br /> <br /> questionnaire and interview to gather the data, and Boston Matrix Theory and Growth Strategy to <br /> <br /> analyze its business condition. <br /> <br /> The results of this research are to put focus on MediaKalimantan.com, make Media <br /> <br /> Kalimantan and two more websites as supports to Media Kalimantan’s business.
