The national shallot production has increased each year. However, these increases are not sufficient to fulfill national demand, since the scarcity of good quality shallot seeds. One of the alternatives that can be done to counter the problem is by using TSS (True Shallot Seed). The research’s aim is to determine the effect of giving auxin and gibberellin, including the interaction, upon the quality TSS (True Shallot Seed) Lokananta vaerity . The research was conducted within 5 months, using Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 4x5 factorial pattern, the first factor being GR IBA concentration (I) that consists of 4 concentration levels, including i0= without IBA, i1= IBA 50 ppm concentration, i2= IBA 100 ppm concentration, i3= IBA 150 ppm concentration and the second factor being GR GA3 (G) which consists of 5 concentration levels, including g0= without GA3, g1= GA3 100 ppm concentration, g2= GA3 200 ppm concentration, g3= GA3 300 ppm concentration, and g4= GA3 400 ppm concentration. Results showed that the giving of Auxin (IBA) and Gibberellin (GA3) growth regulators does not have significant effect towards the quality of TSS (True Shallot Seed) but there are tendencies that applying 100 ppm auxin or 100 ppm gibberellin gives the best 1000 seed weight (3,88-3,89g); applying 150 ppm auxin or 300 ppm gibberellin gives more TSS gran (84,27-84,42%); applying 100 ppm auxin or 400 ppm gibberellin gives better seed germination rate (88,5-89,2%). text |
