Description
Summary:Coalbed Methane (CBM), an energy in form of unconventional gas, is a prospective energy resource in Indonesia. This methane gaseous hydrocarbon found at coal formation is categorized as unconventional gas by how it is stored in the reservoir and how it is produced from. The differences compared with conventional gas in those two aspects are caused by adsorption gas storage that methane molecules are stick to the coal grain surface, and recovery processes which involve diffusion flow from micropore to macropore (cleat), and because of that the production profile is different from conventional gas. In this paper, author developes a simple material balance simulator that can be used to predict the production profile of a CBM well with reservoir data, relative-permeability data, and production history data, as input data.
