Textile industry is the dominating type of industry that disposed waste water to the Citarum Hulu River, whose waste water contains chromium and copper. This affects water quality, sediment, and organisms living around Citarum Hulu River. The purpose of this research is to know chromium and copper concentration in water, riverbed sediment, and catfish samples from Citarum Hulu River, also determine potential pathway exposure to human. Chromium and copper concentration obtained by sample extraction and then measured by Flame-Atomic Absorber Spectrophotometer (Flame-AAS). In two sampling points, chromium concentration in water sample exceeded the standard in West Java Regional Regulation No. 39/2000, that reached 0.077 mg/L and 0.157 mg/L. Copper concentration in water sample was 0,064 mg/L, which exceeded the standard. Riverbed sediment samples were classified as polluted, regarding copper concentration standard in US.EPA Region V. Catfish sample in one of the sampling points contains high chromium and copper. Chromium concentration in catfish sample is 103,925 mg/L, while copper is 4,225 mg/L. Water, riverbed sediment, and catfish are used by several people in several locations around Citarum Hulu River for daily activities. The usage of water, riverbed sediment, and catfish, which contained heavy metals, enhanced the potential of metal pathway in the research area. text
