There is no comprehensive study about pore pressure analysis in this basin. This study is expected to be able to reduce risk related to overpressure presence in future exploration and exploitation wells. <br /> <br /> <br /> Pressure profile of three wells that have been drilled in the study area shows indications of the presence of overpressure zone. The pore pressures in this field can be estimated by using Eaton Method with sonic and resistivity log, assisted by direct and indirect pressure measurements as well as other well data. Mechanisms of overpressure generation were analyzed from geochemical analysis of source rock, well temperature analysis, Dutta-Katahara cross-plot and burial history. <br /> <br /> <br /> The result of this study shows that overpressure in the study area is generated by loading mechanism controlled by high rate of sedimentation. Clay mineral diagenesis and hydrocarbon generation are also indicated to contribute overpressure generation. Well position with respect to geological structure of the basin affects top of overpressure in the study area. <br /> text
