ADDITIVE CODE OVER Z2 Z4

This undergraduate thesis discusses about a kind of new class of code, called Z2 Z4-additive code. Some introduction about coding theory and algebras are included in this thesis for the reader with an average knowledge of mathematics to coding theory. A code C is Z2 Z4-additive if the set of coordinates can be partitioned into two subests X and Y such that the punctured code of C by deleting the coordinates outside X (respetively,Y) is a binary linear code (respectively, a quarternary linear code). A Z2 Z4-additive code and Z2 Z4-linear code will be defined completed with the fundamental parameters. Standard forms for generator and parity-check matrices will also be given. At the end of this thesis, the writer have given the classification of Z2 Z4-additive code with length 4 and 5.
