Description
Summary:Quadriplegic is any person who has a physical defect in the form of a limb that is missing or not functioning properly. Therefore, it makes them unable to perform activities independently. As technology development, these quadriplegics can be assisted by using prosthetic or bionic limbs so that they can be more independent in their activities. Nowadays, the utilization of bionic hand on quadriplegiz hand is still limited, it has not been able to replace the hand's function as a whole because of two limitations: first from the mechanical side, namely the limited degree of freedom from the artificial finger mechanism of the bionic hand, and the second limitations is on the control side, that is the difficulty of processing muscle signals as input to control bionic hands. The purpose of this research is to make bionic hand control and display as the first step of hand bionic research by Biomechanics Research Team of Institut Teknologi Bandung. Systematically control design was carried out in this research. It started from algorithm making, truth table, as well as program making. The design of hardware in the form of display were conducted paralelly to demonstrate the performance of the controls that had been made. Through this research, the limitations of bionic hands from the control side was found, so that it can be used as a springboard for further research with the topic of bionic hand.
