There are five soil fertility parameters used in this study to find out the soil fertility status, ie cation exchange capacity; saturation bases; organic carbon; levels of total phosphorus and potassium. This research is conducted to find out the soil chemical properties and soil fertility status in Gmelina arborea Private Forests Jatiroke Village. Soil sampling was done by composite method, then soil testing was done in the laboratory to analyze soil fertility status, referring to soil chemical properties criteria and soil fertility status from Soil Research Center Institute (1995). The results showed the value of soil chemical properties to determine soil fertility status at five research sites in Gmelina arborea Jatiroke People's Forest as follows: cation exchange capacity 14,73-23,3 cmol/kg, saturation base 48-74%, organic carbon 2 , 3-12,5%, total phosphorus 25-59 mg/100g and total potassium 64,6-100,6 mg/100g. The status of soil fertility in the Gmelina arborea Private Forest Jatiroke Village in four locations has medium fertility status, and one location has high fertility status. text
