One of the important stages in the process of soy sauce <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> production is the process of making caramel, and cooking process. All this process is done by using pressure vessel for cooking pot of soy sauce. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The aim of this final project is to design a vertical pressure vessel for fixedbed reactor which complies with ASME Section VIII Division 1. The design have to fulfill the specified design criteria and operate safely at a specific pressure and temperature. The design pressure is 0.32 MPa and the design temperature is 150&#8451;. The designs of pressure vessel components consist of the design of the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> shell, bottom head, top head, nozzle and support. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on the calculation, the dimensions of the main components have been determined. A cylindrical shell has an internal diameter of 2450 mm, a wall thickness of 8 mm and a height of 2356 mm. The shape of the bottom head used <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> is torispherical with the thickness of 9 mm (2.75 in).. The nozzle size is DN90 with schedule of 5S. Lug support is selected with value of maximum load of lug support is 16320 kg (36000 Lbs). The detail of the pressure vessel dimension can be seen on the technical drawing. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The numerical simulation using ANSYS Workbench is conducted by simplifying the model of the design. The aim is to determine the stress value due to the loads of the design condition. The simulation results of all the stresses are below the stress limits, which are based on ASME Section VIII Division 1. text
