In this study, we calculate effective permeability using King, Green & Patterson method and its modification, and Karim & Krabbenhoft renormalization methods on normal, log-normal, and exponential distribution, also on permeability distribution generated using an analogy of resistor network. Results show that calculated effective permeability using Green & Patterson method, modified Green & Patterson method, and the Karim & Krabbenhoft method deviate only about 0.1 miliDarcy, while King’s method derived by Zaroh Irayani vary significantly to about 3 miliDacry compared to the other methods and very sensitive depending on the conditions of the spatial distribution. This results provide us information about the effect of different permeability distribution on those renormalization methods. text |
