Summary: | Poor waste management is an environmental problem that generally occurs in urban areas today, especially in big cities. Bandung city is one of the big cities which is now developing into a metropolitan city surrounded by Bandung regency, Sumedang regency, and Garut regency. TPA Sarimukti is one of the landfill that serves the garbage in Bandung which its active period is exhausted at the end of 2017. Similarly TPA Pasir Bajing which is planned to be closed by the Government of Kab. Garut because it causes environmental problems that endanger the community. This makes the City and District in Metropolitan Bandung make a collective agreement to build TPPAS Legok Nangka. Planned since 2009, TPPAS Legok Nangka is currently not yet started to operate, the existing condition does not show its readiness to proceed. So it needs to be reviewed about the processing to be applied in TPPAS Legok Nangka. In general, garbage truks in Indonesia come from two places, namely domestic truks and market truks. Based on the composition and its water content, the domestic waste heat value of Bandung reaches 5780 kcal / kg, has the highest calorific value compared to other cities / regencies in Metropolitan Bandung. Then after going through waste sorting process, the calorific value can be maximized again, reaching 7966 kcal / kg. It shows that domestic waste of Bandung city potentially used to be used as fuel of RDF. While based on the composition of market waste is dominated by organic waste that reaches 85.5%. This indicates that organic waste originating from market truks has the potential to be used as compost. By maximizing the type of truk based on its soure the domestic and the market is expected to perform more effective waste processing. |
