Summary: | Oil recovery process consist of some stages based on the energy used in producing oil. First

stage is called primary oil recovery. At this stage, oil is produced by the reservoir energy itself.

Next stage is called secondary oil recovery. At this stage, the energy used in producing oil has

decreased so we will use the other energy from outside reservoir usually waterflooding. Last

stage is called tertiary oil recovery better known as Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). In EOR, we

use advanced technic in oil production.
This final report discuss about a mathematic model from primary oil recovery till Enhanced Oil
This model uses some assumption as follows : horizontal system and one dimensional flow. By

using continuity equation, oil flow is described as mass flow at a straight line. The model is

described by partial differential equation, then by using finite difference method the model is

transformed to a discrete model to know how the solution of the model. The independent

variables are the reservoir pressure, oil saturation, and water saturation.
