Summary: | Electroencephalogram (EEG) is one of medical tests that is used to observe signal evolution of brain activity. Albeit its utilization in diagnosis and management of cranial-related problems such as brain tumor and ischemia, still for such craniotomy-dependent cases the use of EEG has not been maximized due to its inconvenience and lack of standards. To overcome these problems, an intracranial EEG machine capable for surgery application was designed with 2 electrodes (8 channels). The recorded signals then subsequently processed with conventional filter methods to improve signal quality and yield high quality EEGs. All of these methods then were evaluated with both visual and quantitative analyses. From 5 ischemia patients that have been recorded, there are 39 of 40 EEG channels acceptable enough to be assessed visually. This concluded with quantitative evaluations by relative delta percentage (RDP) and power ratio index (PRI) in which parameters show PRI and delta domination from all recorded EEGs that consistent with brain ischemia condition. |
