| Summary: | Emotional landscape is a theme that define the accumulation of several studies centered around ideas that emerged from post-impressionism, ekphrasis, and intertextuality—all emphasizing the artist’s subjectivity in experiencing an aesthetic experience which in the end is channeled into an artistic experience. Meanings that appears in a work of art were caused not solely from the amount of information generated from the nature, but also influenced by personal subjectivity which will open the interpretation of an art work to a more natural domain, human’s emotional consciousness. This signification of meanings will be more enhanced if this understanding is analogized as a landscape of emotion. In the author’s paintings, concept of emotions can be imagined as an ecosystem in which they work in relation to each other, in each own role so they can be understood more fully. Theme of emotional landscape is a conception that the author feel when various composition of meanings formed in a work of art, in this case surface of the painting. |
